Farnaz Abed is an award-winning designer with over 22 years of experience, including 15 years in Canada. She has worked on a variety of large-scale architectural projects throughout Vancouver, BC and across both Canada and the Middle East. Farnaz’ s focus is on large-scale residential and mixed-use buildings. Farnaz has expertise in designing functional and efficient buildings coupled to thoughtfully considered context and unique designs. This background results in her clients benefiting from her strategic mind and keen eye for detail, giving them an advantage in a rapidly changing market. Farnaz has a Master of architecture and planning. She is a former member of the royal architectural institute of Canada and the Iranian construction engineer’s organization. Julia Fruithandler

Julia Fruithandler is an Urban Data Analyst within the Quantum Team. Her work focuses on GIS and urban planning integrations with Parametric Design, with strong interest in transportation planning. She has experience working in state and local transportation agencies in addition to her current work in the private sector. Julia is well versed in GIS and spatial science and has proven experience creating, managing, and manipulating data, and creating web-enabled and interactive maps. She also has experience working with Rhino3D and Grasshopper, and transferring analysis between GIS and BIM formats. Ms. Fruithandler has particular interest in project analysis and automation using ArcGIS model builder and has exposure to API solutions, ArcPy, and Javascript. She believes that we should be integrating data and science with qualitative and community-based planning methods to make efficient, diverse, and livable cities.

Evangelos Pantazis

Evangelos Pantazis is an architectural engineer, building scientist, computational designer and educator.

His research expertise is in complex geometric modelling and generative design strategies in conjunction with daylighting, energy modelling and performance driven design workflows across scales. His work empowers non-specialized architects and designers to develop design alternatives which couple critical design parameters with energy demand and supply, comfort, and livability. To date, he has authored and co-authored journal papers, peer reviewed scientific articles and book chapters.

Prior to joining IBI in 2019, Evan was a member of i-lab and Schema Lab at the Viterbi School of Engineering, where his research was supported by a fellowship from the National Science Foundation (NSF), the Department of Energy (DOE) and Autodesk Inc. In practice Evangelos has worked for Graft Architects in Berlin, Studio Pei-Zhu in Beijing, Buro Happold Engineering in Los Angeles, has co-founded Topotheque design research studio and he is the CTO of Fablab Ioannina.Evan holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the Viterbi School of Engineering at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, where he was a fellow of both Onassis and Myronis Foundation. Additionally he holds a Master in Computer Aided Architectural Design from the Swiss Federal University of Technology (ETH) in Zurich and a Diploma in Architectural Engineering from the Aristotle’s University in Thessaloniki.

Roberto Jenkins

Roberto Jenkins specializes in the design and development of mixed-use masterplanning and redevelopment projects, with a particular focus on large, transit-oriented development sites along the US/Canada West coast. Roberto is active in several Bay Area TOD projects, and led the masterplanning and concept architecture of two adjoining phases in the Candlestick Point redevelopment, totaling over 2,000 residential units in 33 acres.

Roberto also led the architectural design of the approved Master Development Plan for the Los Angeles Civic Center, a holistic vision to transform that district from 9-5 local government office use into a vibrant 24/7 mixed-use urban center, activated by over three million square feet of new construction. In addition, Roberto has worked on a variety of mixed-use, residential, hospitality, and healthcare projects in the US, Canada and Central America. In conjunction with his concept design emphasis, Roberto also specializes in parametric modelling and visualization of projects.

Yancey Clayton

As an architect and manager, Yancey partners with clients, contractors and consultants to realize beautiful projects that serve the needs of owners and users and enhance the urban environment.

He is a Registered Architect in California and Illinois, a member of the American Institute of Architects and Urban Land Institute and is a LEED Accredited Professional. He holds a Master of Architecture from the University of Illinois – Chicago.

Joseph Clark

Licensed in 1990, I am a California architect with over 30 years of experience on projects throughout the State, primarily in the central San Joaquin Valley of California. I have experience in a variety of project/building types, with approximately 11 years of experience having been focused on K-12 educational projects with some Community College experience. Other project types include: commercial office, government office, medical office, skilled nursing, industrial warehouse, hospitality, custom homes, single/multi-family residential and farm labor housing. I have designed projects from a predetermined program, as well as, assist the client by assessing their needs and preparing a program to suit situation. My experience includes: facility planning, conceptual design, construction documentation, construction administration and project closeout. My design philosophy focuses on meeting the Client’s need with creative and practical solutions.

Angus Davol has over 20 years of experience in the transportation industry, including consulting, public sector, and academic experience. With IBI Group, he has direct experience in planning and implementation of state-of-the-art transportation technologies, coalition building across a wide range of public agencies, and management of complex multimodal transportation projects. In his prior role as lead planner for transportation technologies and emerging mobility at San Francisco International Airport, he led the development and implementation of new technologies for ground transportation management, including developing industry standards for permitting and operations of Transportation Network Companies at airports. He also has planning and operations experience at Stanford University, where he led planning and program development for the University’s industry-leading transportation demand management, sustainability, transit, and parking programs.

As IBI’s Regional Technology Lead responsible for all USA offices, I have taken the responsibility to move the company into the Building Information Modeling era using Autodesk Revit, Navisworks and Virtual Reality. I have helped develop company standards, trains staff in Revit and continue as a BIM Mentor to other IBI project teams across the globe. I have developed budget and time saving custom software for IBI to automate various tasks, from Complete Building surveys and asset management software, Inventory and drafting to building coordination and design. I have also helped establish protocols to allow all teams to work on any project across the United States and Canada remotely and effectively. I graduated with Bachelor of Architecture (Magna Cum Laude) from California State University and have practiced in the field of architecture for over 20 years. I have extensive skills in Building information modeling, building development from schematic designs to construction documents and construction Coordination. I also have an extensive practical knowledge of computer technology, software development, Building Information Modeling, rendering and graphics software.

Jason King

Mr. King is an architect, planner and parametric/computational designer with two decades of experience in designing cities. He draws from a background of architecture, spatial analysis, algorithmic design and optimization, active transportation and sustainable land use. The ability to use complex datasets to make informed decisions across IBI’s sectors is central to his work in designing cities and architecture. His parametric planning and design process allows increasingly complex large-scale projects to be done more efficiently while exploring exponentially more iterations of design solutions. He taught architectural studios at Woodbury University for a decade researching computational solutions to architectural and urban problems. Before joining IBI Group, King worked in the Shared Mobility Department for the Los Angeles Department of Transportation, primarily focused on the expansion of the City’s bikeshare program.
