Nihit Jain

Nihit is an Associate with IBI Group, and specializes in the planning, design, implementation, testing, and use of technology and data systems in the mobility space. Over the last 10 years, he has worked on a mix of public transportation, highway, traffic, and municipal system projects. He brings a deep understanding of the challenges agencies have in designing, installing, operating, and maintaining transportation technology systems, and how they are used by different stakeholders across multiple modes.

Nihit is managing IBI Group’s work for Tampa HART Transit Technology Support, Sound Transit’s APC Systems Consulting Research Services, Westchester County Transportation’s Radio Migration. Nihit has also acted in a project management or technical capacity for various agencies across the US, including CTDOT/CTTransit, Ithaca TCAT, MassDOT/MBTA, and Penn Turnpike Authority. Nihit has also presented in various APTA conferences across the US on demand response transportation, fare collection, and transit technology and serves on the Board of the Philadelphia chapter of the Young Professionals in Transportation group.

Julia Fruithandler

Julia Fruithandler is an Urban Data Analyst within the Quantum Team. Her work focuses on GIS and urban planning integrations with Parametric Design, with strong interest in transportation planning. She has experience working in state and local transportation agencies in addition to her current work in the private sector. Julia is well versed in GIS and spatial science and has proven experience creating, managing, and manipulating data, and creating web-enabled and interactive maps. She also has experience working with Rhino3D and Grasshopper, and transferring analysis between GIS and BIM formats. Ms. Fruithandler has particular interest in project analysis and automation using ArcGIS model builder and has exposure to API solutions, ArcPy, and Javascript. She believes that we should be integrating data and science with qualitative and community-based planning methods to make efficient, diverse, and livable cities.

Evangelos Pantazis

Evangelos Pantazis is an architectural engineer, building scientist, computational designer and educator.

His research expertise is in complex geometric modelling and generative design strategies in conjunction with daylighting, energy modelling and performance driven design workflows across scales. His work empowers non-specialized architects and designers to develop design alternatives which couple critical design parameters with energy demand and supply, comfort, and livability. To date, he has authored and co-authored journal papers, peer reviewed scientific articles and book chapters.

Prior to joining IBI in 2019, Evan was a member of i-lab and Schema Lab at the Viterbi School of Engineering, where his research was supported by a fellowship from the National Science Foundation (NSF), the Department of Energy (DOE) and Autodesk Inc. In practice Evangelos has worked for Graft Architects in Berlin, Studio Pei-Zhu in Beijing, Buro Happold Engineering in Los Angeles, has co-founded Topotheque design research studio and he is the CTO of Fablab Ioannina.Evan holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the Viterbi School of Engineering at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, where he was a fellow of both Onassis and Myronis Foundation. Additionally he holds a Master in Computer Aided Architectural Design from the Swiss Federal University of Technology (ETH) in Zurich and a Diploma in Architectural Engineering from the Aristotle’s University in Thessaloniki.

Notable projects Aamer has been involved in include the Alberta Boot development in Calgary as well Theory Condos in Toronto. Aamer is currently managing the Master Planning and design of several mid high-rise mixed-use projects in the downtown Toronto core and surrounding areas.

Victor Labreche

Victor has over 30 years of extensive and progressive urban planning experience having previously worked as a Planner in local government for several years, held a Senior Planning position within a major corporate restaurant brand, also as a principle/co-owner of a planning consulting firm for over 14 years and now recently as Planning Practice Lead with the IBI Group, located in the Region of Waterloo. Victor has extensive experience in public and private project facilitation, mediation and project management working collaboratively with clients’ interests and a large number of stakeholders to resolve extensive issues to a mutually agreeable approach and implementation of project objectives. With the extensive experience Victor has gained having worked in all sectors of planning being public, corporate and private over the last 30 years, he has the experience, knowledge and contacts in the land development industry including required other disciplines to effectively complete complex planning applications. Areas of practice include: Planning Feasibility and Due Diligence Studies, Community Planning and Design, Project Management, Official Plans, Secondary Plans, Plans of Subdivision and Condominiums, Zoning Bylaw Amendments, Consents, Minor Variances and Site Planning. Victor has been recognized by Ontario’s Local Planning Appeal Tribunal (formally OMB) as an expert in the area of land use planning and is a full member of the Canadian Institute of Planners, the Ontario Professional Planners Institute and is a Registered Professional Planner.
