As a Design Architect with more than 17 years of experience and a strong background in Site Analysis and Conceptual Design, Jorge has been regularly involved in largescale innovative projects with a particular focus on mixed-use, institutional, and post-secondary education. He has a special interest in the integration of holistic sustainable practice, and advocates for the use of cutting-edge planning and architectural design technology to meet or exceed ambitious building performance goals. Jorge holds a Passive House Certified Designer designation and is currently part of the leadership team for the Building Design Sustainability sector within IBI Group’s Climate Action Plan Task Force.

With 25 years of experience in the architectural field, George has extensive knowledge in space planning, light wood framing, building envelopes, and construction detailing & sequencing. He is up to date on barrier-free and Ontario Building Code literacy & compliance, and construction specifications. He has extensively collaborated with Developers, Construction Managers, various Consultants, and Contractors through schematic design to project close-out. He has also provided guidance to junior team members for design development, construction documentation, and detailing.

John has over 30 years of experience in a broad range of municipal engineering, including environmental assessment, planning, design, operations and construction related to land development, transit, transportation, water, and wastewater. He also has significant expertise developed over 12 years in construction contract management for design-bid-build and design-build projects. John has worked with diverse groups of stakeholders, often with competing interests, including elected officials, community and business associations, the public, construction and consulting engineering industries, and agencies such as utility companies, Metrolinx, Toronto and Region Conservation Authority and Waterfront Toronto.

Joshua Ashish Dawson is an Indian-born, award-winning filmmaker & designer based in Los Angeles. He received a Master’s in Advanced Architectural Studies from the University of Southern California, where he was the recipient of the S. Kenneth Johnson Memorial Scholarship and a Gesundheit traveling fellow. He trained under Pritzker Prize-winning architect Balkrishna Doshi as well as Hollywood production designer Alex McDowell, founder of the World Building Institute at USC.

This combination has led him to explore world-building and storytelling as a speculative fiction tool for architecture, re-imagining the built environment through interdisciplinary design thinking and cinema. Joshua has been featured in both mainstream and architectural media, including Vice Motherboard, Close-Up Culture, ArchDaily, Director’s Notes, and Domus Italy. His work has been screened at the Garden of Australian Dreams at the National Museum of Australia in Canberra, as well as renowned film festivals across the world. Joshua was the recipient of the 2019 Jury Prize at the Academy Award-qualifying Cinequest Film Festival in San Jose.

Aaron Sanders is a registered architect in the state of Texas with over 17 years’ architectural experience that consists of PreK-12, commercial and public sector projects. He is a multi-faceted Associate Principal who acts as a go-to source for many of our staff members while leading project management efforts throughout the programming, design, technical production and construction administration phases. Where most architects’ strengths lie on either the design side or the technical side of the profession, Aaron is talented in both arenas. He has a passion for mentoring which is spawned from his belief that it is our obligation to teach, coach and share information with our next generation of emerging professionals. Mr. Sanders has contributed greatly to IBI Group’s efforts in Dickinson ISD, Galena Park ISD and Alief ISD. Notable examples of Aaron’s educational work include:

Mrs. Ackerman graduated on the Dean’s List from Ryerson University in 2008 with a Bachelor of Architectural Science. She has obtained her Project Management Professional (PMP)® and LEED® Accredited Professional credentials. With over 12 years of experience in high-rise residential design, Leslie has managed various condominium, rental building and school residence projects. Her involvement ranges from feasibility and conceptual design through to construction administration.

Peter Lang is a Registered Architect, an insightful designer and master planner with 35+ years of professional experience, who translates project programs into memorable urban, resort and educational experiences and inspirational buildings.

Along with multidisciplinary experience in most building types, Peter has also focused specialties in both Hospitality/Resort and Educational master planning, approvals negotiation and facility design. He has authored the design of projects throughout British Columbia, the United States, the Middle East and Asia, with an extensive portfolio of projects in Whistler B.C. Peter is committed to high quality design and documentation, to exploring new inclusive educational environments for all learners of the 21st century and beyond, and in creating compelling resort experiences and buildings that distill and capture the sense of a place. Peter joined IBI Group in 1997 and holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of British Columbia as well as a BA (Arts and Sciences) from the University of Toronto.

Micheline’s flexible, well rounded skills and abilities enable strong leadership at all levels and milestones of project lifecycles. She is proficient at driving teams to deliver on concurrent tight deadlines, providing both strong team leadership and team support. Micheline’s experience includes both renovation and new build projects in both architectural and interior design streams. She is able to coordinate the efforts of others, and with the efforts of others, to meet organizational goals. She has proven leadership skills which include strong interpersonal skills prioritizing building relationships based on credibility and professionalism with stakeholders, consultants, and project teams, building consensus, and managing risk. Micheline’s project experience includes large architectural projects, historic hotel renovations, multi-modal transit terminals. parking structures, corporate interior design, retail, and condominiums

Mac Gong is a senior urban designer and a registered architect in China coordinating design work between our residential high-rise and placemaking practices. He specializes in large mixed-use and business/industrial master plans and design guidelines which require a deep understanding of how buildings and cities work. He has worked on complex assignments in Canada, China, and the Middle East, and has dozens of private development rezoning projects in the Lower Mainland to his credit. As a bridge between different disciplines, Mac is well-attuned to producing building massing schemes that fit urban policy, maximize developer expectations, ensure circulation access, and produce high-quality integration to the broader urban realm.

Holds Bachelor degree in Architecture with + 15 years of extensive experience in the architectural design with professional skills across the spectrum of architecture through out the design process from concept to construction. Have solid experience in High Rise Residential, Hotels & Commercial buildings from mid to large scale projects . This is supported with strong background in sustainability & environmental design experience. Passionate about detail design and construction drawings . Skilled in Project management, team leadership, mentor-ship and quality management. Have worked in international as well as local projects in varies countries and regions including Egypt, Emirates, United States and Canada. International Associate AIA & LEED Green Associate.
