As Project Manager, and a Registered Architect, Steve has brought a wide range of experience over his 35 year career to IBI. Since joining IBI almost 4 years ago, he has specialized in industrial and automotive work. Originally hired in the Southfield, MI office, Steve has since transferred to the Raleigh, NC office where he has been for the past 3 years. His automotive/industrial experience has given him the opportunity to work for all the major automotive manufacturers while completing large or complicated projects of note for Toyota and Tesla.

Since joining the Raleigh office, he has begun to diversify his experience, by working on a myriad of projects ranging from Maintenance & Operations (M&O) facilities for local and out of state municipalities, to working with the NC Wildlife Resource Commission, NCWRC, on the re-design of a shooting range.

In May of 2019, he was promoted to an L1, Associate Principal, level within the IBI Global Leadership and more recently became the Operations Manager for the Raleigh office helping with the day to day operations of the office.

Since joining IBI Group 13 years ago, Cliff has worked on a variety of projects, with a particular focus on higher education, streetscapes and trails. His experience includes private estates, mixed use development, housing, college campuses, municipalities, parks and historic sites. He enjoys the process of collaborating with clients and fellow designers to discover creative solutions which can satisfy multiple goals.

Cliff has a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Design and Masters of Landscape Architecture from Auburn University and is an active member of ASLA and SCUP.

Jessica graduated from Sheridan’s Interior Design program in 2007 and has been in the corporate interior’s world ever since. She joined IBI Group Interiors Design Team in 2014 as a designer. She is a dependable and resourceful individual who is keen to deliver projects on time and budget. Jessica understands how important the client’s needs are, and ensures these needs are consistently achieved. She is a fast learner and utilizes her strong organizational skills to her advantage. As an interior design professional, Jessica’s strength comes from her ability to creatively problem solve in order to find the most appropriate solution for the challenges that are inherent in the industry.

David joined IBI Group in 2012 as a Transit Technology Analyst in the Transit Technology Practice, and is a graduate of the University of Waterloo Civil Engineering program. David has been an Associate – Manager, Transit Data and Technology since May 2019. David’s current/past roles/projects include: Project Manager for TTC Wheel-Trans to upgrade their scheduling, dispatching, and customer-facing (e.g. Website, Mobile App) systems to improve mobility for those with disabilities travelling on public transit; Project Manager for the PRESTO project, helping deploy Ticket Vending Machines (TVMs) and Add-Value Machines (AVMs) on the TTC network.

He has experience in managing cross-office multi-disciplinary teams for all phases of a project, including: needs assessment, concept of operations, system specification development, procurement, and deployment. David has experience in a wide-range of Transportation Systems (ITS) solutions, such as Computer Aided Dispatch/Automatic Vehicle Location (CAD/AVL), Rail and Bus Scheduling Systems, Real-time Information Systems (RTIS), and Fare Management Systems.

Dave Barrett has over 15 years of land use planning and development experience. He has extensive experience in aggregate site planning and licensing and processes related to aggregate applications, including work for a number of clients ranging from smaller individual producers to the top aggregate producers in Ontario.

As Manager of Aggregate Planning, Dave provides project management and planning evaluations for pit and quarry applications under the Aggregate Resources Act. Dave also provides urban and regional planning, analysis, and research support for all aspects of the IBI’s activities. He has experience in providing planning consulting services to municipalities and private sector clients, resource planning, and licensing. He is also experienced in obtaining development approvals, Environmental Assessments for waste management projects, Class Environmental Assessments, and other environmental approvals. He has provided expert evidence before the Ontario Municipal Board.

Dave is a Registered Professional Planner and is a member of the Canadian Institute of Planners.

As Global Director, HR, Katrina Stevens has a role that encompasses the full lifecycle of the people experience at IBI. She is an innovative Human Resources professional with over twenty-five years’ experience in local, national and international professional services firms, including but not limited to, B+H Architects, Osler, Miller Thomson, ADP and Alcatel. Katrina is a known leader with a recognized ability to integrate organizational objectives, proactive employee programs and change management. She is a results-oriented team player, known for collaborative problem solving and delivery of outcomes that strategically meet the needs of the business. Her skills are complemented by studies in Adult Education, Diversity & Inclusion as well as formal accreditation in Human Resources.

Mahsa’s combined design and technical skills have made her a valued asset within IBI Group. She graduated with honors from Columbia University in New York, where she was exposed to innovative contemporary and forward-looking architectural challenges.

Working at well-known firms such as Henriquez, Bing Thom and now IBI have provided her a diverse background in a variety of institutional, residential and commercial projects. She has contributed design and project leadership to a series of high profile projects such as Burrard Place, Granville & 68th Avenue, and Pearson Dogwood. Her artistic eye combined with technical precision brings design excellency to her projects.

Tom Shannon has 20+ years of experience in the field of systems integration and deployment for public and private sector clients. He has enhanced his technical background in electrical engineering with a Masters of Business Administration and PMP certification. For the past nine years, Tom has been working with the Ministry of Works and Transport in Trinidad as the Project Manager for the successful deployments of the National Traffic Management System, Red Light and Speed Enforcement systems. He recently concluded an assignment as the Project Manager for the Ground Transportation AVI System for the Hillsboro County Aviation Authority at the Tampa Airport. This system monitors and tracks commercial vehicles and assesses fees based on the vehicle and type of trip. Past assignments include work for Federal (NPS, FHWA), State (CT, NY) and local levels of government.

As the Interior Design Lead for IBI’s Buildings sector, Joe has an innate understanding of the challenges facing our clients, across all verticals, today. With extensive experience gained from projects in the Middle East, Asia, Europe and the Americas, he has an appreciation for the importance of brand and how it needs to be synthesized into the built environment for project and organizational success. Joe leads a highly creative and talented group of professionals around the globe focusing on the spaces people occupy, that spans corporate workplace, transportation, hospitality, residential, retail, healthcare, education and institutional arenas.

Jason is a seasoned and highly accomplished SCADA / Controls Engineer with over 18 years of experience. After graduating from the University of Western Ontario with a bachelors of computer science and electrical engineering, he started his career developing control system software solutions for manufacturing and food and beverage clientele as a Systems Integrator. Four years into his career, Jason transitioned into the Water/Wastewater industry providing SCADA consultant services for Municipal Utilities throughout North America. His consultant experience includes procurement analysis, developing procurement contracts, master planning, conceptual/preliminary design, standards development, detailed design, construction administration, site supervision, systems integration and commissioning. Jason’s core strength is working with clients to define their future vision for their control systems and developing an actionable capital improvement program to support. In addition to his technical expertise, Jason has significant experience managing complex capital projects and developing / executing business development strategic plans.
