Nicolas has a unique blend of international experience in multi-discipline (electrical, mechanical, civil, structural) engineering, construction, contracts and project management. He has 27 years of engineering and management experience in power, oil, gas, utilities and asset management, renewable energy, infrastructure, ICI, and land development; completing tenth of projects worth more than $10 billion US. Nicolas is educated in electrical power engineering with IT enterprise software knowledge to support experience. He is fluent in English, French and Arabic, and is effective in communicating with all levels from executive management to field personnel. He is also experienced in Microsoft Office suite of applications, as well as enterprise software such as GIS and CMMS. Nicolas is proficient in Bechtel’s Contracts formulation and management, FIDIC suite of contracts, and CCDCs. He has a good track record in achieving results and objectives, while spearheading teamwork, collaboration, and cooperation.

Puneet Kumar joined IBI in 2012. He is an Associate at IBI Group and a professional with over 25 years of experience in various capacities ranging from Design to Project Management for projects in British Columbia (Canada), California and India. He offers outstanding talent in project management, problem solving, consultant coordination, and training team members. He is skilled in developing design concepts; production of construction documentation (working drawings, details, specification coordination, and tender) and liaising with clients, consultants, construction groups and city authorities. His experience in British Columbia and California is primarily in mixed-use high-rise residential buildings. His past experience in India includes design of corporate offices including interior design, Transit centers and various residential projects. Mr. Kumar is familiar with all major aspects of architectural practices from design to site administration. Recent projects include, River Green Parcel 9 and Lot 12 in Richmond BC and two 45 Storey Residential Towers in San Diego, California. Puneet has a keen interest in use of Technology for various aspects of project design and construction documentation.

Keith is a Professional Engineer and a seasoned telecommunications veteran with over 28 years of telecommunications and information communication technology experience across engineering, sales, product management, marketing and executive level management functions. He has worked with municipalities, transit agencies, utilities, carriers, and vendors, developing strategic plans based on needs assessments, devising strategies for monetizing technology investments; services and product differentiation through market analysis and competitive positioning; business model development; risk mitigation and contingency planning; vendor selection and contract negotiations.

Keith has provided Canadian municipalities strategic guidance and reviews of CRTC decisions relating to local and wholesale telecommunications competition and Internet as a basic service.

Tim is a passionate practitioner of Landscape Architecture and Arboriculture. Tim has a broad spectrum of experience that extends into the planning, design and construction of active transportation facilities, trails, complete streets, cultural heritage landscapes, parklands, urban parks, placemaking, green infrastructure, low impact design (LID), and arboriculture. His experience includes work with large and small municipalities, National Heritage sites, National Parks, development of city wide active transportation detailed design, community and public park design, public consultation, site remediation, environmental assessments, interpretative signage, stream restoration, and arboriculture across Canada. Tim endeavours to create inclusive spaces that foster a sense of community with comprehensive and interdisciplinary design solutions. His expertise in construction management and project implementation allow him to push the bounds of the design and create safe and implementable solutions that are not only unique but can be constructed.

Christina Pilz is a Landscape Architect and ISA Certified Arborist with more than 18 years of experience in design and project management. She brings a broad range of skills and capabilities to the firm drawn from her academic and work experience. She has an undergraduate degree in Environmental Science specializing in Natural Resource Management and Botany, and a Master of Landscape Architecture from the University of Guelph. Ms. Pilz combines strong design sensibilities with an in-depth understanding of ecological systems and plant material, resulting in sustainable design solutions that are sensitive to the environment while creating aesthetically pleasing and functional public spaces.

In recent years, Christina’s work has been focused on the delivery of P3 projects and implementation of sustainable design solutions that include LID, uncompacted soil conditions for long-term tree growth, and thoughtful plant species selection.

Erin is a strategic planning and smart cities specialist working to transform cities and communities to become more livable through the effective application of technology, with a particular focus on the health, welfare, and success of people in those communities. She has spent the last 10 years as a technology analyst, strategic planner, and project manager working with cities, regions, and transportation and transit agencies planning for, designing, implementing and deploying technology solutions, with an emphasis on mobility.

Her focus has been on solving our clients’ problems through communication, collaboration, and critical thinking. Erin is also a leader within our Smart Cities practice working with smart mobility engineers, urban planners, and software developers to identify, pursue, and implement smart projects throughout North America. Erin’s smart mobility experience includes both management and strategic planning roles in the development of advanced transportation technologies and solutions that cover all modes.

Daniel Hsueh, LEED AP is an OAA licensed architect. He has over 20 years of architectural experience in Canada and Southeast Asia. His design portfolio features a range of projects including large scale, mix-used developments, institutional, commercial and residential developments, where he delivers creative ideas and unique solution to the design of these projects. Daniel’s projects include Sobey’s regional headquarter that won the Mississauga Urban Design Awards 2016, an award-winning residential project at 1451 Wellington Street West in Ottawa and the “Vision” project at Pat Bayly Square in Ajax that won the 2019 Rental Development of the Year (High-Rise) award.

Daniel has a passion for the design process and for high-level engagement with owners to deliver excellent work. He earned a Master of Architecture from the University of Hong Kong and a Degree in Architecture from Birmingham City University in England.

Sam has over eight years of experience working with transit real-time passenger information systems and CAD/AVL systems. Sam leads the implementation and operations and maintenance of IBI Group’s transit data suite of software for clients including TransLink (Vancouver), Los Angeles Metro, and RTD (Denver). This suite of software includes TRANSIT-alerts, which is used to enter, manage, and disseminate service alerts, and TRANSIT-realtime, which aggregates, manages, and disseminates real-time locations and predictions. Sam also has a focus on real-time passenger information systems for rail and has designed and developed light rail and commuter rail real-time passenger information systems for RTD (Denver), SunRail (Orlando), and NFTA (Buffalo).

Prior to joining IBI Group in 2015, Sam worked for the MBTA (Boston) for over four years. At the MBTA he designed and developed software that generated real-time arrival predictions for the subway lines and published the predictions on countdown signs and for app developers, served as system administrator for the bus CAD/AVL system, and managed the MBTA’s GTFS data. Sam has a Master’s degree in Transportation and a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics.

Catherine Ramsay has over twenty-five years of professional architectural experience. She brings strong project management skills within a diverse group of facility types including elementary, secondary and post-secondary educational projects as well as retail and commercial.

Catherine has managed and coordinated engineering consultants and other specialty consultants through design and construction. Catherine brings experience in ensuring that the project goals, budgets and schedules are met. Catherine’s current project highlights are: New Westminster Secondary School and Richard McBride Elementary School. Catherine is passionate about architectural design.

Liviu Birjega has over 17 years of extensive involvement in IBI Group – Intelligent Systems division and more than 27 years of experience working in software development, IT and academia. Mr. Birjega provides functional and technical expertise, strategies and leadership in the development of new IBI Group projects and enhancements of existing ones delivering results across multiple verticals and technology platforms to enterprise clients. Monitors technology trends that will impact products in the years to come and recommends suitable new technologies and standards to create strategic prioritization and add higher value to customers. A champion for product quality, specializes in systems architecture, design, development and integration, software development life cycle, user experience complex processes, business analysis and integration.
