Samuel is a results-oriented professional planner with more than twenty five years of experience leading professional teams to achieve integrated development initiatives of urban and regional scale. Samuel contributes competent expertise acquired through public and private sector positions in various locations in North America, with emphasis on project visioning, planning, budgeting, management and execution. Particular areas of interest include integrated project leadership; urban land development; land use and transportation synergies; integration of placemaking design and Smart City tools and regional planning and development.

Pavel Stoev is an experienced Professional Systems Engineer with a 16-year track record of leading complex IT and communications infrastructure projects. He specializes in cybersecurity and applies his extensive knowledge of cybersecurity standards to ensure the secure design, development, and delivery of IT/OT systems in the ITS and Smart Cities markets. Pavel’s expertise spans multiple geographical regions and industries, including airports, transit, transportation, and generally public infrastructure. He provides engineering and project management leadership, guiding teams in delivering cybersecurity assessments, design, procurement, deployment, and integration of resilient computing and communication platforms.

With a strong background in electrical and software engineering, Pavel excels in network and systems engineering, data center operations, systems architecture design, telecommunications systems integration, RF systems, cybersecurity standards application, and software configuration management. 

Brian is a landscape architect, and combined with practice as a principal of Landplan Associates Ltd. and previous positions, has over 40 years experience in planning and site design.  He has worked on several award winning projects including the Park at McDougall Centre and Shaw Millennium Park in Calgary, Kananaskis Village in Kananaskis Country and the Tyrrell Museum of Palaeontology in Drumheller.  He is currently working on Spring Creek Mountain Village, an exceptional example of pedestrian oriented resort development in Canmore.  Brian has been honoured with membership in the College of Fellows of the Canadian Society of Landscape Architects.

Brian’s ongoing aspiration is to create memorable pedestrian spaces where people live, work and play.  He is committed to resolving a project’s functional and aesthetic requirements through innovative design based on an understanding of the local environment and culture.  He has been an advocate of sustainability principles for many years and has successfully worked on several LEED projects.  Brian has experience in providing relevant and competent input through all phases of the planning/design process.

Roberto Jenkins specializes in the design and development of mixed-use masterplanning and redevelopment projects, with a particular focus on large, transit-oriented development sites along the US/Canada West coast. Roberto is active in several Bay Area TOD projects, and led the masterplanning and concept architecture of two adjoining phases in the Candlestick Point redevelopment, totaling over 2,000 residential units in 33 acres.

Roberto also led the architectural design of the approved Master Development Plan for the Los Angeles Civic Center, a holistic vision to transform that district from 9-5 local government office use into a vibrant 24/7 mixed-use urban center, activated by over three million square feet of new construction. In addition, Roberto has worked on a variety of mixed-use, residential, hospitality, and healthcare projects in the US, Canada and Central America. In conjunction with his concept design emphasis, Roberto also specializes in parametric modelling and visualization of projects.

Yancey is a licensed architect with over 15 years of experience working on projects throughout the United States. His completed work includes projects at a variety of scales and types including commercial, office, residential, mixed use, aviation, and institutional buildings. As an architect and manager, Yancey partners with clients, contractors and consultants to realize beautiful projects that serve the needs of owners and users and enhance the urban environment.

He is a Registered Architect in California and Illinois, a member of the American Institute of Architects and Urban Land Institute and is a LEED Accredited Professional. He holds a Master of Architecture from the University of Illinois – Chicago.

Maria Dugand is a registered Alberta Land Surveyor or ALS for short. Her education includes a diploma in Geomatics Engineering and Surveying from La Universidad del Zulia in Venezuela. Maria came to Canada in 2007 and has focused on Municipal Land Development in Alberta since then. As a Manager in the Geomatics department in Edmonton, Alberta she is responsible for the management of a team of professionals and technologists involved in the collection and maintenance of field data for dealing with land ownership and development projects. Her attention to detail and focus on end results ensures her clients get a quality product delivered on time.

Jacob’s passions for big cities, systems technology, and sustainable mobility align with the work he is involved with as a Transportation EIT. Jacob brings his combination of systems design experience, policy background, and data analytics perspective to help integrate many of IBI Group’s existing practices with the tech-based solutions they are pushing forward.

Working with IBI’s Mobility+ teams, Jacob has applied these skills on various transportation projects, ranging from curbside management to transportation demand analytics. His background in policy has enabled Jacob to work with cities to identify their pain points and bottlenecks when dealing with urban transportation. He has also been heavily involved with creating innovative solutions to these issues, with a specific focus on the data and systems integration involved. With his Master’s in Cities Engineering and Management from University of Toronto and Bachelor of Applied Science in Applied Mathematics from Queen’s University, Jacob is constantly looking to better address the complex issues urban centres are facing today.

Jessica Deslippe is a Transportation Engineer with over 5 years of experience, focusing on traffic operations and road user safety for both public and private sector clients. Her experience in transportation engineering is broad, and includes the preparation of traffic operations analysis, traffic signal operations, microsimulation modelling, traffic safety analysis, roundabout analysis, and the development of strategic plans. Jessica has completed signal timing coordination studies for numerous agencies, including the City of Toronto and Durham Region, as well as developed optimized timing plans for different stages of construction for large-scale transit projects, including as the vivaNext Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) in York Region. Jessica also has experience with curbside management, congestion management, and event management planning. Working on these types of projects has provided her with a thorough understanding of mobility trends, the balance between mobility and safety, and trade-offs between different road users, including pedestrians, cyclists, transit, trucks, vehicles, and other unique road users.

Rachel is an Urban Planning graduate, specializing in Urban Design. In her role with IBI Group, Rachel has a passion for creating vibrant community master plans, rooted in an understanding of planning best practices and innovative urban design. She has experience working on a diverse range of local and international projects with IBI Group, with project experience related to streetscape master planning, community master planning, public realm design, transit-oriented development, block and site planning and high-quality urban design, among others. Rachel is also experienced in public consultation, having worked with a variety of communities in effectively engaging their citizens using technology-based approaches.

Anthony Sgro, a Professional Engineer in Ontario, has over 7 years of experience with IBI Group providing consulting and advisory services, engineering oversight, and systems deployment for a variety of ITS projects including revenue collection and traffic management systems. Anthony has led toll system deployments, cost and feasibility studies, and preliminary and detailed design reviews, system requirement definition, and the development of standard operating procedure and technical specifications to support our clients.
