Maja is an architect with considerable experience within the academic, research and innovation sectors, where she is experienced at delivering projects across varying scales, internationally and in the UK. Her work focuses around mixed-use developments and the creation of sustainable communities that support resilience, inclusivity and wellbeing.
Maja is a celebrated thought leader, sharing her experiences, ideas and knowledge of emerging trends to facilitate global conference workshops and inspire individuals to push boundaries in strategy and design. Maja’s expertise is underpinned by her invested interest in research and evidence-based design. An author and contributor to global research papers, she has helped shape the future of education, campuses and library design.

Carla Queiroz
Carla has over 18 years of experience working in the healthcare sector and her combined design and technical skills have made her a valued asset within IBI Group. Specialized in clinical planning, has accomplished managing detailed architectural packages for both new build and refurbishment schemes of varying complexity. Her high organizational skills were key during her involvement in the highly complex Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Glasgow. Carla was also involved in the award-winning Peterborough City Hospital, and the award-winning Mental Health scheme Woodland View, Ayrshire Central Hospital, where she was responsible for ensuring the timely delivery of highly complex construction packages, which included the technical design of acute clinical functions.
Carla always promotes collaborative working and successfully manages the team to ensure that all tasks are performed in line with the master’s program. An integral member of the interior design team has an exceptional eye for detail and forward-thinking ideas as evidenced by her work in the fit of the new London Studio. Carla is confident in translating conceptual ideas into working designs. Carla understands and can solve the challenges that can materialize at the early stages of the build and uses her excellent problem-solving abilities to communicate solutions that support build-ability.
Robert Hall
Robert is a talented designer and communicator who is skilled at leading complex design exercises across a broad range of building typologies. With experience in healthcare, science and education Roberts’s approach centers around stakeholders engagement to ensure a comprehensive, inclusive, balanced design solution is reached. By actively listening to clients Robert has been able to deliver complex one-of-a-kind science building. He has been successful in threading together multi-discipline teams, working with unique experimental equipment with incredibly challenging briefs. This was achieved by leveraging his excellent communication skills, combined with being able to quickly generate design concepts that cut to the core of perceived issues and provide elegant solutions. This process of listening, collating ideas into a robust brief and then actioning design solutions has also served Robert well whilst working in Healthcare projects. Having delivered large complex hospitals for the NHS, as well as working with several private health providers in the UK, he has also worked across North America, the UAE, Africa and Central America proving a translatable approach as a project and design lead.
Paul Turpin
Paul is the Learning+ Lead for the UK, working with our regional offices across the UK and connecting with our global offices to bring a well-informed international outlook to pedagogy and procurement. He also works across IBI’s other core sectors of healthcare and residential to help develop a dynamic approach to placemaking. Paul is a RIBA Registered Client Advisor and supports local authorities and the DfE as a technical advisor to major education developments. He actively supports a variety of education establishments across the age ranges, including STEM Ambassador for Kent and Medway running events with secondary school pupils to promote Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths, and a visiting lecturer and ICC member at the University of West London.
