A community vision for Mexico’s Peñasquito gold mine
The purpose of this visioning exercise was to develop principles and mining community options that improve the quality of the accommodations and social/recreational services associated with the Peñasquito camp. This will help to improve conditions for the workers, improve quality of life, support the mandate of the company, and improve living conditions for the local people. In addition, it is anticipated that the other long-term benefits may be legacy-related infrastructure that can survive past the longevity of the actual active mine, as well as help Goldcorp build stronger and lasting relations with local Government agencies and stakeholders.
