Brian Baker
Brian is a landscape architect, and combined with practice as a principal of Landplan Associates Ltd. and previous positions, has over 40 years experience in planning and site design. He has worked on several award winning projects including the Park at McDougall Centre and Shaw Millennium Park in Calgary, Kananaskis Village in Kananaskis Country and the Tyrrell Museum of Palaeontology in Drumheller. He is currently working on Spring Creek Mountain Village, an exceptional example of pedestrian oriented resort development in Canmore. Brian has been honoured with membership in the College of Fellows of the Canadian Society of Landscape Architects.
Brian’s ongoing aspiration is to create memorable pedestrian spaces where people live, work and play. He is committed to resolving a project’s functional and aesthetic requirements through innovative design based on an understanding of the local environment and culture. He has been an advocate of sustainability principles for many years and has successfully worked on several LEED projects. Brian has experience in providing relevant and competent input through all phases of the planning/design process.
